TEMPER PILLOWY GOODNESS

Hi everyone! How long has it been? I've missed sharing my fashion tips and finds with you! It's been SO HECTIC the last several months. Let me catch you up really quickly and then we'll get into this new new that I'm working on. So. Engaged in April. Celebrated 3 bachelorette's (all mine) the last 2 months, spent my September visiting Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore, got an AMAZING new career opportunity, currently celebrating my birthday month AND getting ready to get married in NOVEMBER! Whirlwind, I'm telling you. But all wonderful things.

Ok. So now to these heavenly pillows. AFTER traveling all around Asia for 14 days going from one hotel to the next, the one thing I was looking forward to the most was coming home to my bed. You know what "home sweet home" saying? That's how I feel about my bed, my sheets, my pillows, my comforter. When I got asked to test these pillows, I was semi-excited because I already had good pillows. BUT HONESTLY GUYS. I have officially switched out BOTH mine and my fiance's pillows for these temper pillows. The reason I swapped my original one out for this one, is because it's the perfect size and height for neck support. It's super soft but still firm enough where it doesn't feel like I'm just laying on a pile of super mushy cotton balls (if that even makes sense).

Both pillows are still currently on our bed and we're literally using it every night. Probably one of my favorite items by far because it's not something that goes out of style or that is used for trendy reasons. It's practical, feels great and reasonably priced. When my head hits this pillows, it kinda just sinks in perfectly and it feels just so comfortable.

Can you believe that we're almost in the month of March? New Year's and Valentine's Day literally just flew by. I hope you're all just living your best life in 2018! Although, that can mean eating a whole pizza on a Saturday night watching Harry Potter movies 1-8 but hey, don't judge me. It was a fantastic weekend of lounging. Anyways, in today's post, I will be styling two outfits highlighting colors and pieces that never go out of style and is a staple throughout all seasons.

Fashion Tip: You get three tips today: 1) BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR OWN SKIN FIRST. This is not as easy as it sounds. I think that fashion is meant to help accentuate your personal style. Help you express yourself through clothes and color. The confidence is in the person, not the clothes. So #1 is very important. 2) Know your body. It is important to to know what looks good on you and what doesn't. Not all cuts, colors and trends were meant for you. 3) Lastly. Once you get 1 & 2 down, fashion is easy peasy. As you change and evolve, your style does the same. Be fun, be fearless with fashion and everything you wear will be exactly as you planned it. Feel like a pretty little thing in pretty little thing.

So what's going on with everyone? I hope everyone had a wonderfully romantic Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day, Uncoupling Day, Non-couple Day, or It's-complicated Day. I know a lot of people are looking forward to St. Patrick's Day and Spring Break soon but when you're as old as I am, Spring Break no longer exists. However, that doesn't mean I don't have tons of spring fling events on the weekends! :)

Now I know that when you're thinking Spring, you think of florals. Which is greaaaat... however. Please recall the most memorable quote in "The Devil Wears Prada" when Miranda says... "Florals for Spring? GROUNDBREAKING." What I mean by that is, although it's wonderful to include it in your line up, your entire Spring Fling collection shouldn't compose of it. Earlier I mentioned that I will be styling classic colors and pieces. I hope you're able to see that in my outfits. No one will ever tire of black and white. Those are classic colors that will remain in fashion until the end of time. All black everything or white on white on white. Both combinations have stood the test of time.

You've heard the saying, "what's old is new again" right? Well it's true. As history always finds a way to repeat itself, so does fashion. Crop tops, oversize denim jackets, backpacks. They're all back. The trick is to know how to add a modern twist to it. There are certain staple items I like to rotate. A good pair of booties. A comfortable, fitted pair of jeans. A denim jacket - oversized or normal. A sexy cami. No matter the season, these are all items that can be paired and styled with almost anything. I've been totally guilty of repeating a lot of these pieces over the last couple of months. But you want to be able to own pieces you like enough to wear them more than once. And because I don't have a money tree in my backyard or live like the Kardashians. Repeating outfits it literally my life. So might as well repeat clothes I LOVE.

VALENTINE'S DAY

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Honestly - single, taken, or "it's complicated," no matter the status, I always love this holiday. I'm such a sap and I love any holiday that celebrates love... even if it's totally a commercial holiday. There's just something so sweet and special about celebrating people you love. Today, I'm posting not only my "Valentine's Day outfit option" but also what I actually wore on a date with my love.

Fashion Tip: When it comes to fancy dresses, I try to focus on one major accessory. With this particular dress, I decided to pair it with statement earrings... only because, I mean, when can I wear these bling blangy earrings?

So. I'm going to get a little personal here. This dress is called the "LOVE AGAIN" maxi dress... and to be honest, it 1000% describes my current relationship status. I've experienced the lowest of lows in relationships and I haven't always made the best decisions when it comes to love but being with him changed my views on love and made me believe in love again. He is the epitome of a good man and I feel lucky to be his every single day. I've never felt so loved and appreciated before in my life.

To all the ladies out there. Single, taken or "it's complicated", it starts with "self-love" and I had to learn that the hard way. No matter the situation, never give up on love... any kind of love. Life is too short. Fall in love. Travel. Live happy.

Fashion Tip: If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I always gravitate towards the effortless, easy-to-style, throw on outfits. This is one of them. Literally. Threw on this dress and tied the front. What I love about it is that it has somewhat of a low plunge to add tad bit of sexy. Because it's already a floral print, I kept everything else simple. Added heels and sunnies. Done.

I'm so excited for Valentine's Day! I know that it is a commercialized holiday, but sometimes people need reminders. There's nothing wrong with appreciating those you love just a little extra. So enjoy the hearts, chocolates and flowers. And it's not just one way! This year, I'm wining and dining my boyfriend because it's not just a one way street. Love goes both ways. We have a few things planned so I like to have multiple outfits in place. I have a few dresses planned for the week and then a cute romper planned for Galentine's Day with the girls. Whatever you decide to do, just enjoy the moment and appreciate it for what it is. Smile, be happy.

VALENTINE'S DAY OUTFIT IDEAS (P.1)

Is it me or did the first month of the year just fly by?! Can you believe it's already February?! But on the bright side... it's the month of LOVE! I don't know about you BUT I love Valentine's Day. Lol, single or taken, I just love love. Regardless if I'm in a relationship, my girlfriends and I always have a Galentine's Day dinner to celebrate with each other. So. This is my first post in a series of posts that will be showing different Valentine's Day outfit ideas c/o Shop Tobi. Whether it's for a romantic dinner, causal lunch or a girls night, I hope you like how I styled these different looks.

Fashion Tip: One of the reasons why I love dusters is that they're so easy to style. This is just one of many ways. You can literally wear anything underneath it. For this look, since it's for Valentine's Day, I decided to go with something a little more dressy and sexy so the top I'm wearing is actually a lingerie one-piece that I just tucked into my jeans. I've also worn this duster for date night with a crop top and high waist leggings. Super easy to style. Dusters are the easiest thing to throw on so this is definitely a trend I would suggest you try.

When I wore this on date night, my boyfriend asked me why I'm wearing my bathrobe to dinner. He said it looked like a something I'd wear around the house before bed. Lol, so that's probably the only downside I see in this duster. Men might not get it. I just told him it's called FASHION. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces right now, v-day or not. I love the color, the silky feeling and how comfortable it is. So this is look #1. Stay tuned for the second look soon. Does anyone have any exciting plans?!
