so this was really interesting. the first night of oc fashion showcase was actually a meet and greet with all designers and models that are participating in the fashion show. media and bloggers got a chance to interview and pick their brains about their upcoming collection which was an amazing opportunity to know more about what inspires them.

MANI MONDAY: WHITE OUT

i'm sure if i can figure out how to do my own nails, i'd save a boatload of money. but then again, i wouldn't have those fun convos with my nail lady. major gossip sesh. does anyone remember the anjelah johnson nail salon comedy bit?! it so totally does go down like that. word of advice for the non-asians: if you're visiting a nail salon for the first time, bring one of your asian friends! lol #justsayin

so i'm all about the stiletto nail trend, but i can't function if my nails are too long. so this is like a shorter, less pointy version of it. i did a white base with a thin black border around it to make it pop. i love trying different styles and polishes and so far, everyone seems to love this style.

THIGH HIGH BABY

first off. i'd like to say MAJOR CONGRATS to my beautiful gf ALEXANDRA LIMON for being the first girl in our group to get HITCHED! your wedding was gorgeous and uber sweet. made me almost wanna get married myself!


now. for the reception outfit. i wanted to wear something a little fancy because well, let's be real here. there really aren't a lot of dressy occasions anymore. i've been lusting for a pleated skirt with a thigh high slit that wasn't made of like that typical cotton-y material but i couldn't find it anywhere. i decided to ask my haute-mazing designer gf (who's the stylist for shop gypsum) to just make one for me. (she made custom made a vegas dress for me before too - FYI it was hot shit.) ok, so anyways, i just showed her what i wanted the skirt to look like and BAM, this is how it came out.

what i wore: amazing customized dee do pleated skirt with my oh-so-high but classy slit, that i totally dubbed the "JO" skirt, bakers heels, luna boutique gold plated belt and a onesie body suit that i stole from my roomie's closet.

there's really nothing better than finding exactly what you're looking for AND knowing that there's not another skirt like that at any store. it's by far my favorite piece right now. i just need another excuse to wear it again.

BLOGGER BABES AT THE BLOGGER BAZAAR

where do you go to see your favorite bloggers AND shop their closet?? at the BLOGGER BAZAAR! i got to rub elbows with Wendy Nguyen, Jules and the Song Sisters - Aimee and Dani! all amazing fashion bloggers with impeccable taste. i was like a kid in a candy store. the bf said i was all over the place so it was hard for him to take photos of me. seriously couldn't help it. there was like a warehouse full of treasures and uhhh plenty of people there trying to get the same things you're getting. gotta get on it!!! but anyhow. i totally came up on several items. woot woot!

yummy food catered by La Guelaguetza, where the bf spent most of his time while i was getting free mani's by shop NCLA.

the event was a success. each blogger donated a portion of their sales to charity of their choice so anything attached to a cause is amazing. i got to meet several of my style inspirations AND shop their closets. can't wait for their next event!!

I REALLY LOVE MY...

so, ok. i normally don't like to be an obvious fashion repeat offender, BUT my dear cousin recently called me out on this one piece that i keep adding to all my outfits! i didn't notice it at first but yeah, i'm totally guilty. it's not really a STATEMENT NECKLACE piece... however, it stands out just fine. the gold adds a little oomph and edge to each outfit. don't you think?!
